2006: The YEAR of Clarity!
Go Inside…
I’ve been running silent and deep this past month like a submarine 20,000 leagues under the sea.
I say, “Good riddance” to 2005, for me a gut wrenching and life-altering year.
How about you?
Do you feel a sense of new possibility?
What would you like to be feeling, doing, and saying about 2006 one year from today?
How can you be, what can you do, where can you go this year to make that 2007 conversation a reality?
Consider this: “BE, DO and GO INSIDE!”
Going inside is not an easy journey. It takes emotional courage, intellectual honesty and spiritual love to look at who you really are. When you strip away the heavy marble of ego, judgment and doubt, you discover a pretty remarkable human being, strengths and all.
I’ve been chipping away to find the real me, the “David” inside (read Blog post on, “Finding True North” ).
I was fortunate to get a lot of help chipping from the people outside of me.
A few months ago I wrote an essay, “Why 90% of Self Help, Doesn’t Help!”
The one game changing play missing from the self-help playbook is:
Clarity!
Without it, we pick our way through life with a cloud of dense fog hampering our every step.
With it, we move with ease and grace.
With clarity, resistance disappears and uncertainty dissolves.
I got life altering clarity by going inside these past few months.
My best gift to you is to share my clarity, and your best gift to others is to share yours.
Forget branding, platforms and elevator speeches.
If you want to make an impact that changes the game, share your clarity.
What if you don’t have clarity?
Share your lack of clarity.
It is hard to gain clarity by yourself. You need others to practice your clarity with. If you lack clarity, ask others to help you gain it.
No matter how hard you stare at something, you cannot see it more clearly if your vision is impaired. The only solution to clarity is corrective lenses or a Lasik eye procedure.
If you want more clarity, ask someone to help you see what you cannot see, to open up windows to more possibility.
I coined the term “Chief Encouragement Officer” to describe The NEW Game CEO.
YOU are the CEO, the Chief Encouragement Officer of your life.
I encourage you to make just one New Year resolution:
Make 2006 the Year of Clarity!
This year, get clear on who you’re being, what you’re doing, where you’re going.
Go inside.
The journey of the soul is a solitary one.
But you don’t have to go it alone.
I volunteer to take the journey with you.
I am here to be your Chief Encouragement Officer.
It’s a New Year.
It’s a NEW Game.
We’re players.
Let’s take the field.
Enjoy the game.
