The Year of New, The Year of YOU!

Life is so tenuous.
It changes forever in a moment.

With a natural disaster wreaking unspeakable horror,
people of the world have come together as never before.
We are united in our humanity, not divided by ideology.

The tsunami and its aftermath have changed the world.
Hopefully, forever!

We re-discovered our universal connection: each other.

Your pain is my pain, your suffering is my suffering.
Your hunger is my hunger, your grief is my grief.

I lost nobody in the tsunami, yet I lost everybody.
I am you, and you are me and, we are all together.

When we forget, Mother Nature reminds us.

It is sobering to see how quickly life can change,
and how material wealth pales when measured
against the value of life itself.

Our real purpose here is to:

Live and let live,
Love and be loved,
Serve and be served.

Will this Earth shattering event bring us together?
Or will we continue to wage wars of materialism
and ideology that keep us apart?

Without love, anything can divide us.
With love, everything can unite us.

It starts with you loving you.
Loving yourself is not selfish.
It’s the highest expression of love.

If you are like me and most of the rest of us, you
are more compassionate, tolerant and kind to others
than you are to yourself.

We should re-examine The Golden Rule.

If we treated other people like we treat ourselves,
we would not have many friends.

I’ve been practicing a NEW Game Rule:

** TREAT YOURSELF AS WELL AS YOU TREAT OTHERS! **

In truth, it’s OK to treat yourself better than others.
Esteeming yourself does not diminish your esteem for others.

The best you can do is to value and esteem yourself.
The best gift you can give is to love and serve others.

If you want this year to be the best one yet, make
“This Year of NEW, the Year of YOU!”

Take care of yourself. Treat yourself well.
You deserve it.

May you have abundant opportunities to love and
be loved, to serve and be served, and to share your
bounty with others.

Enjoy plenty of plenty.

Make this Year of NEW, the Year of YOU!
Happy New Year!

Unconditionally yours,

Mitch
